Universal to release cartoon in 4K for the first time - May 11

It was announced in February 2021 that Universal Pictures would release "Shrek" in 4K Ultra HD, but the exact release date was only announced in March.

The updated "Shrek" will go on sale May 11, on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the cartoon's showing at the Cannes Film Festival, which took place on May 12, 2001.

The anniversary edition of "Shrek" will include its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions, as well as about four hours of extras, including short films about Donkey and the Cat in Boots, musical numbers, deleted scenes and author commentary.
