U.S. Group Purchases Roto-Flo Line and Gear Tooling Divisions

U.S. Group, has purchased the Roto-Flo spline and thread rolling machine product line and its rack and thread tool manufacturing division from Micromatic, a Textron company. U.S. Group invested in the purchase and will oversee the integration and management of the new organization through its subsidiaries, U.S. Equipment Co. and U.S. Gear Tools.
The Roto-Flo new machine build and remanufacturing operations have been relocated to U.S. Equipments headquarters in Detroit. Spline and thread tooling will continue to be manufactured by U.S. Gear Tools at the existing 36,000 square foot facility in Swannanoa, NC where the existing management and workforce remain intact.
U.S. Equipment is a remanufacturer of used and redesigned machine tool equipment and provides machine tool evaluation, rebuild and turnkey retool services.
U.S. Gear Tools custom designs and manufactures cold forming racks, gear hones and gear shaving cutters and also provides contract production spline rolling for large and small production needs.
Paul Simon, CEO of U.S. Equipment says, "We are investing in new technologies and R&D to improve spline and thread rolling machines and further extend tool life".
