The system is used in various stages of hob manufacturing including relief grinding, sharpening and inspection. According to the company's press release, the runout accuracy is 0.0008". Hydraulic expansion systems are also available for grinding and sharpening hobs on specific hob grinding machines. Toolink added that the hob is held in position with high precision and low runout. The clamping system is actuated axially by hand.
