Ingersoll Cutting Tools Introduces Insert and Tooling Family
February 7, 2007
Ingersoll Cutting Tools introduces its Hex-Turn family of inserts and holders.
According to the companys press releaes, the 12 cutting edges of these hexagonal, negative geometry inserts can reduce production costs.
Each corner of the insert features wiper geometry to enhance surface finish, even at high feed rates. The 45 degree lead angle allows high feed rates with low cutting forces. A 120 degree included angle provides a strong insert design and improved resistance against notching.
The external and internal tool holders utilize Ingersolls T-Type clamping system. Internal holders feature directional coolant control.
