Electric motor manufacturer Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. has been selected one of Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
According to Bison's press releae, the Best and Brightest awards were established to honor those companies that recognize employees as their greatest asset. The 2007 awards recognize companies that work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value and business results through their policies and Best Practices in human resource management.
Nominees were reviewed by a panel of judges who are looking for above average programs, services and solutions for employees. The company says Bison Gear's Skilled Workforce Initiative, a joint program with other manufacturers, economic development organizations and educational institutions is an example of a program which remedies the shortage of qualified entry level employees in manufacturing was instrumental in winning the award.
"Bison would not be in this unique position without the dedication and the determined pursuit of excellence our associates have expressed. We are extremely proud to receive this award and to be included with the other recipients as an ideal place for employees to work," says Martin Swarbrick, President and COO.
Bison will be honored with the other recipients at an awards ceremony on August 6
at the Chicago Marriott in Oak Brook, Illinois.
