The Romer Absolute Arm is the latest generation of Romer portable 3-D measuring arms and the first measuring arm to have absolute encoders, a development that aims to significantly simplify the inspection process. This technology avoids the earlier need with all measuring arms to initialize the encoders, so users can switch the machine on and start measuring immediately.

The Romer Absolute Arm is lightweight and systematic with an ergonomic design featuring additional grip positions and a balanced main tube. "With its Wi-Fi capability and high-capacity rechargeable batteries, the Romer Absolute Arm can operate wirelessly. Our customers can select from two levels of precision and seven arm lengths between 1.5 and 4.5 meters," says Pirmin Bitzi, Hexagon Metrology product manager for portable measuring arms.

The Endeavor 3 CMM from Hexagon Metrology is designed to address a range of dimensional measurement requirements. The machine is manufactured at the company's headquarters factory in Rhode Island, where it is checked and certified to meet rigorous application test procedures required by B89 and ISO standards.

The Endeavor 3, one of two models, is appropriate for touch trigger applications, while the Endeavor 3 Plus model is targeted at more demanding tactile and non-contact scanning applications. The Endeavor 3 Plus also offers extensive sensor support, including the Leitz LSP-X1 and LSP-X3 tactile scanning probes, the CMM-V and CMM-Ve vision sensors, as well as the ScanShark non-contact laser scanning sensor.
