Due to numerous requests from the industry, the spline connections according to DIN 5481 and DIN 5482 were recently implemented in KISSsoft. The old standard DIN 5482 became invalid a long time ago, however, is still in use. DIN 5481 has been recently republished (2005). The splines according to DIN 5482 are involute designs, DIN 5481 has straight line profiles (module MPK). The user can now enter the effective and actual tolerances. This makes it possible to match the tolerances precisely with the required mounting clearance for today's manufacturing process. This serves to avoid excessive tolerances as they were necessary in the past due to relatively large profile form deviations. Furthermore, via the newly available function "tooth shape with straight flanks", the spline profile according to DIN 5481 is graphically presented and can be exported, e.g. as DXF file.
