Luren Precision Co., Ltd. recently introduced the CNC Hob Sharpening Machine LHG-3040.This machine is built with a rigid structure for machine stability and is operated with the latest CNC controller technology in combination with personal computer, direct drive motor, and linear motor to achieve the high precision hob sharpening requirements. The user-friendly SMART GRINDING software developed by Luren with dialogue-type input is applied to make the operation simple and easy. The use of easily changeable grinding wheel shank allows a shorter set-up time, and the combination of the PC and digital control system offers simple and easy operation and data input of unlimited parameter settings. LHG-3040 is designed to grind and re-sharpen straight and helical gash hobs up to 10 inches in outside diameter and 12 inches in length and down to DP 2.54. Optionally it can be used to grind gears (profile grinding), splines and shaper cutters. Gear precision of AGMA 14 or DIN 4 for standard gear profile can be easily achieved. Special gear profiles can also be achieved by the LHG-3040. For sharpening straight hobs only, the economic version of LHS-3040 is recommended.
