With KISSsys, gearbox variants can now be calculated very efficiently (module KS1). In contrast to the GPK-models, where within the fixed gear stage number, only one interpretation of the gears and shaft/bearing diameters is possible; this gearbox design tool manages an evaluation across stages, for several potential gearing stages, all variants based on previously established parameter ranges. This is all done in the same calculation.
The variant generator of KISSsys produces up to a hundred or more different gearboxes based on power data and required safeties. With the specification of the geometry parameters by the designer, the desired conditions of the gearbox are fulfilled. KISSsys also determines even weight, cost, housing dimensions and efficiency for each variant. Quite surprising solutions result from this analysis, at same effective safeties and service lifes.
The different solutions may be represented in a 3-D-axis-graphic and compared with each other. The desired solution can be easily generated (with selecting the variant in KISSsys) and therefore examined visually. The designer is now able to compare, within a few hours, a variety of gearboxes among themselves. The model allows the sizing of cylindrical, planetary, bevel gears and worm wheels.
