Jerry Byers, manager of research and development for Cimcool Fluid Technology, is the new president of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).  His term will span 2012-2013. Byers joined STLE in1977 and has been active with the society at both the national and local levels. He served as a member of the Metalworking Fluids Education and Training Subcommittee, was an associate editor for STLE's peer-reviewed journal Tribology Transactions, and held several offices with the Cincinnati Section, including treasurer and chairman. He is currently chair of the society's Sections Affairs Committee.  Byers was appointed to the STLE board of directors in 2003, and joined the society's Executive Committee three years ago, serving as treasurer, secretary, vice president and now president. This summer, Byers will celebrate 40 years with Cimcool Fluid Technology.
