MultiDimension Technology Co., Ltd. (MDT) recently announced the first Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) gear tooth sensors for industrial motion sensing applications that measure position and speed of gear teeth, cams, linear and rotary magnetic encoders, and linear magnetic scales. The new MMG44DG TMR magnetic gear tooth sensors are designed and manufactured with MDT's unique TMR sensor technology and intellectual property. They feature very high sensitivity for small-pitch gear tooth detection, high-amplitude output signals that are resistant to magnetic field interference, large air-gap tolerance, and low power. They offer very high resolution for detecting small changes in magnetic field by gear teeth, magnetic strips, linear magnetic scales, and other ferrous materials. "MDT's TMR magnetic gear tooth sensors are the first-of-a-kind on the market, and they bring many unique benefits of TMR sensor technology to our customers, with small-pitch gear tooth detection, robust signals, and larger air-gap," said Dr. Song Xue, chairman and CEO of MultiDimension Technology. "We are fully committed to deliver the best value to our customers with multiple service options, including TMR sensor wafers, TMR sensor chips, custom designed packages, custom sensor modules, and application solutions."
MDT's TMR sensor technology realizes the key benefits of existing magnetic sensor technologies including Hall Effect, AMR (Anisotropic Magnetoresistance) and GMR (Giant Magnetoresistance), while adding high sensitivity, large signal output, and low power inherent in TMR technology. MDT offers all advantages of TMR to the commercial sensor market in a growing product portfolio, including TMR magnetic field sensors, TMR magnetic angle sensors, TMR magnetic switches, and the new TMR magnetic gear tooth sensors.
