Seco to Offer Oil and Gas Solutions at Houstex
December 11, 2012
At Houstex 2013 in booth 1323, Seco Tools will showcase its oil and gas machining applications expertise, as well as its advanced tooling solutions for threading, turning, holemaking and milling operations specific to that industry. The show takes place Feb. 26-28 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. For applications ranging from drill pipes, bits and couplings to valves, pumps and even wellhead and subsea equipment, Seco works closely with its oil and gas customers to produce completely new technologies that optimize their processes. Seco threading solutions, for instance, ensure clean and precise threads for superior connecting and sealing of today’s oil and gas components, while providing substantive reductions to overall part cycle times. When compared with standard threading inserts, Seco’s threading inserts significantly reduce the number of required passes to shorten threading cycle time by as much as 75 percent. The company’s threading inserts, as well as its turning inserts, make use of the Seco Duratomic coating technology that further increases insert toughness and wear resistance. Houstex show attendees will also experience the technical advancements in insert designs and drill body constructions Seco incorporates into its holemaking solutions for the oil and gas industry. These advancements optimize holemaking operations for the tough-to-machine component materials often used to endure extreme environments. Seco’s Crownloc and Perfomax drills, along with the company’s Bifix, Precifix and EPB tool lines for reaming and boring operations, deliver dependable accuracy and high performance in large-diameter holemaking for oil and gas part applications.
