ANCA to Demonstrate CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder
March 25, 2013
The new, affordable ANCA MX5 CNC tool and cutter grinder will be demonstrated at EASTEC Booth 1152. Designed with the volume end-mill producer in mind, the MX5 also has the flexibility to produce mixed batches. Providing all the rigidity, stability and accuracy characteristics of other ANCA machines, the MX 5 delivers at a lower price. “A lower-powered spindle (26 kW) and fewer wheel packs (2) is perfect for many users requirements and is still an ideal specification for the grinding of the majority of HSS and carbide cutting tools up to 1 6mm (5/8”),” said an ANCA spokesman. Grinding wheel and spindle are supported in the machine by a huge casting called the bi-symmetrical gantry which evenly straddles the tool center line, minimizing the effects of thermal growth and provides the high rigidity required for producing consistently accurate tools. This design allows the grinding wheel to remain very close to the C axis pivot point. This configuration produces the highest levels of profile accuracy for tools requiring substantial 5 axis movements, such as corner radius, or ballnose endmills. ANCA software has always been versatile and easy to use and now, to coincide with the launch of the MX5, this ease of use is taken to a new level with ToolRoom, ANCA's most significant software update in years. It includes an easy-to-use new endmill wizard and intelligent, integrated 3-D graphics simulation. ANCA’s RoboMate, a high capacity and compact loader option available on the MX5 for production or resharpening, is easy to use. Simply just enter how many of each tool to make and RoboMate figures out the rest. It has a loading time of only 15 seconds.
