January 27, 2014
United Grinding, the largest single-source provider of complete and integrated grinding solutions, will showcase its latest grinding, eroding, laser and measuring innovations for general purpose and advanced tool and cutter production in Hall 7-7050 at GrindTec, taking place March 19 – 22 in Messe Augsburg, Germany.
Show attendees will experience several of the company’s Walter and EWAG machines in action and learn how these versatile solutions bring increased capacity and production improvements to all tool manufacturing environments.
Application experts will also be available throughout the show to meet with manufacturers and discuss proper machine utilization for staying competitive and achieving business growth. According to Ted Neckel, director of corporate marketing for United Grinding North America, Inc., the company prides itself on being able to work closely with its customers to generate solutions that best meet their unique application requirements.
Furthermore, United Grinding staff will be prepared to discuss the company’s six other brands — Magerle, Blohm, Jung, Studer, Schaudt, and Mikrosa — should attendees want to learn more about advancements in surface and profile as well as cylindrical grinding.
Machines representing the Walter brand at GrindTec include the Helitronic Essential, a universal five-axis grinder for the economic production and regrinding of end mills, drills and more; the Helitronic Power Diamond, a grinder and erosion machine for advanced PCD tool production; and the Helitronic Vision 700 L, a high-performance five-axis machine that produces tools up to 700 mm (27.6”) in length.
There will also be several Walter automatic non-contact measurement machines on display at the show, including the Helicheck Basic 3 4-axis optical machine for measuring rotationally symmetrical tools with complex geometries and the Helicheck Plus optical measuring machine for micro tools.
From its EWAG brand, United Grinding will showcase the Insert Line machine that grinds tools and inserts with complex outer contours as well as the Compact Line grinder with unique five-axis kinematics, a six-axis robot and three-in-one dressing unit for the precise production and regrinding of indexable inserts made of hard metal, cermet, ceramic or PCB/PCD. The EWAG Laser Line with integrated automation will also be on display during the show, demonstrating its ultra-short pulse laser technology for modern tool manufacturing.
In addition to spotlighting advancements in tool grinding, United Grinding will also showcase its expertise in precision cylindrical grinding via the Studer S22 production machine with a diverse selection of expansion options for any application.
Through all of its brands, United Grinding offers a scope of over 60 product and service brands, local applications support and centuries of combined experience and innovation in cylindrical, profile, surface and cutting tool grinding, as well as eroding and lasering operations.
