Shell Lubricants has joined Manufacturing Day 2014 as the event’s exclusive Platinum Sponsor, supplying the national initiative with resources to support manufacturers participating in the program. This is the second year that Shell Lubricants has sponsored Manufacturing Day, increasing its commitment this year from the Gold to the Platinum level. Manufacturing Day is a grassroots effort by U.S. manufacturers to improve the public perception of manufacturing in North America by coordinating awareness-raising activities at a variety of locations across the country on October 3, 2014.
“The Manufacturing Day co-producers are delighted to welcome back Shell Lubricants as our exclusive Platinum Sponsor for 2014,” said Ed Youdell, president and CEO of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association. “We are grateful for the creativity they have offered in helping to spread the message about Manufacturing Day to the general population. Their commitment to the program benefits both the hundreds of host companies and the tens of thousands of visitors who attend Manufacturing Day events.”
Manufacturing Day is an annual national event that brings together hundreds of manufacturers to host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. A panel of co-producers comprised of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), and guest producer Industrial Strength Marketing (ISM) provides the centralized support necessary to coordinate this nationwide array of simultaneous events. Science Channel is the event’s media partner and American Made Movie is its movie partner.
“Shell Lubricants is proud to support Manufacturing Day again this year in hopes that we can continue to educate and encourage people to become part of this critically important industry,” said Jacqueline Gates, industrial marketing manager at Shell Lubricants. “As the manufacturer and supplier of world-class lubricants, we understand the vital role manufacturing plays in the success and growth of this country.”
