Foerster completes delivery on biggest order in 65-year corporate history. Benteler, who chose to partner with Foerster in the past, decided to fall back on proven solutions for their new major facility. Foerster’s extensive technology including, Circoson WT, provided a complete system including tables, drivers, automation and software integration of all test instruments into the new Benteler facility located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Benteler continues to partner with Foerster for testing equipment to be able to guarantee the highest quality standards for steel tubes.
Benteler ordered the high-end technology for testing of seamless hot rolled tubes which they will be producing in America for the first time the new production facility located on 150,000 square meters with a capacity of 300,000 tons of steel tubes had an estimated construction cost of 975 million dollars.
ln Shreveport, Benteler will produce tube solutions for energy generation, oil and gas production, as well as for the chemical and petrochemical industry. ln these fields, impeccable material properties need to be guaranteed under norms such as API and ASTM. "With the help of Foerster’s instruments, multi test lines for non-destructive testing of hot-rolled tubes in the finishing lines have been formed. They will ensure that wall thickness, as well as outer diameter of the tubes will accurately meet all requirements and eventual surface defects will be traced reliably," reports Dr. Sailer, head of sales and marketing of the division test systems at Foerster.
