Index has announced the launch of iXacademy, a new online platform designed to provide manufacturers with training on a wide variety of topics in a flexible and convenient format.
iXacademy takes a hybrid approach to online training. Each session is initially held live in an online classroom, and then recorded to become part of the platform’s permanent library of on-demand content. Registered members can view the entirety of the course library at any time, ensuring that training is available whenever it is needed. After viewing a course, members can submit any follow-up questions for a prompt response from the Index training team.
The first iXacademy course, Attach Clamping Jaws to Your Gantry Arm, was held in December 2021 and is already available on-demand. A second course, covering tips for using the STEP and I_PRUN programming codes, is being added in January.
Initially, Index will host new courses on a monthly basis, with plans to increase frequency over time. Courses cover a wide range of subjects related to preventive maintenance, process optimization and machine programming. Additionally, iXacademy members have the opportunity to request courses covering specific topics.
“We have built iXacademy in direct response to input from our customers,” says Cris Taylor, president and CEO of Index Corporation. “Very frequently, manufacturers tell us that they need short-format training sessions that their team can use to gain the knowledge needed to optimize specific tasks. The design of this platform and schedule of courses have been developed to efficiently and effectively meet that need.”
