This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Mazak North American manufacturing operations in Florence, Kentucky. Through its industry leadership in manufacturing innovation and technology, engineering and customer support, the company has securely positioned itself as a champion of the North American manufacturing industry.

With experience in the manufacturing industry dating back to the age of 13, Mazak President Dan Janka once again has accepted the position of chairman of the board of The Association of Manufacturing Technology (AMT). Janka, an AMT member since 2005, last served as chairman in 2010. He retired from the board in 2013, but remained an active committee member and attended the association’s forecasting conferences.
The Kentucky-built Mazak Ez Series comes to Canada for the Western Manufacturing Technology Show in Edmonton. In booth 308, Mazak will feature its QT-Ez 12MY Multi-Tasking Turning Center and VC-Ez 20 Vertical Machining Center, both from the series of machines that put Mazak quality and reliability within reach for virtually any shop with productive, space-saving efficiency at an affordable price.
To support the production of yet another new Kentucky-designed and built line of machine tools, Mazak has expanded its Florence manufacturing campus with the addition of a new SYNCREX Assembly Plant. The 27,000-square-foot state-of-the-art building combines engineering, production and applications support for the company’s recently launched SYNCREX Series of Swiss-style machine tools designed specifically for precision high production of small parts.
The metalworking community comes together during IMTS to celebrate and promote manufacturing technology. Pavilions include Abrasive Machining, 3D-Printing, Controls, Fabrication, Gear Generation, Machine Components, Metal Removal, Quality Assurance, and Tooling and Workholding. The MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC from Mazak has a graphical, intuitive programming mode that minimizes the use and understanding of G-codes. Users answer conversationally displayed questions about the workpiece, and the control constructs the program automatically.
At IMTS 2022 in Booth #338300, Mazak will show manufacturers how they can move their manufacturing operations forward with the company's latest innovations. Five pavilions will showcase solutions for job shops, advanced machining and high-production workflows.
Mazak’s new INTEGREX i-H series platform with SmoothAi CNC and the VARIAXIS i-700T with turning capability will be on-hand at the Experience Tech Aerospace Event co-hosted by Mazak at Sandvik Coromant Center in Mebane, NC (May 11-12, 2022).
