When Sandvik Coromant opened its new Center Mebane facility last year in Mebane, NC, near Raleigh the vision was to use it as a hub for training, R&D testing, customer projects and, most of all, an opportunity for comprehensive customer and partner engagement.
Sandvik Coromant has appointed two new members to its management group. Michael Eneberg began his new role as vice president and head of global sales on May 1, 2022, while Nicolas Dellachiesa will join as head of merger and acquisitions (M&A) in June. Reporting to Sandvik Coromant President, Helen Blomqvist, both Eneberg and Dellachiesa will play vital roles in driving the company’s global growth forward.
The first phase is now initiated of what will be a brand-new mobility hub of fuel cell and plug-in hybrid cars that will be available to everyone in Sandviken, Sweden. The initiative is a joint project between Sandvik Coromant and Toyota’s mobility brand KINTO. The cars will be available around the clock, at any day of the week. The cars can be easily booked with the KINTO app, which is free to download.
The transition to EVs will lower transport emissions, and adoption can be accelerated by increasing their efficiency. EVs that take advantage of aluminum components can travel further per charge, helping to overcome range anxiety. Automotive manufacturers who select machining tools optimized for aluminum will be able to produce high-quality aluminum EV components ― helping to support the shift to greener travel.
Mazak’s new INTEGREX i-H series platform with SmoothAi CNC and the VARIAXIS i-700T with turning capability will be on-hand at the Experience Tech Aerospace Event co-hosted by Mazak at Sandvik Coromant Center in Mebane, NC (May 11-12, 2022).
