The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) was presented with the Trade Show Executive’s Fastest 50 Grand Award in the “Fastest-Growing Show by Percentage Growth in Total Attendance in 2023” category on May 9 at the Fastest 50 Awards & Summit in Las Vegas.

AGMA hosted an EV Town Hall last month during their Motion + Power Technology Expo (MPT Expo). This event was planned to explicitly ask the question, “Is industry ready to roll up its sleeves and start the process of sharing common outcomes that will serve as the building blocks for standards for electric vehicle technology?” Spoiler Alert: The answer was a resounding, yes. And the discussion uncovered some key issues, and perhaps a surprise or two, that will help AGMA leverage its 107 years of experience in this space to start to frame future discussions for electric vehicle standards development.

The American Gear Manufacturers Association’s (AGMA) Motion + Power Technology Expo (MPT Expo) hosted 2,268 attendees and 163 exhibitors last week at the Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan. AGMA also hosted its annual Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) and was co-located with ASM International’s Heat Treat and IMAT conference. Together, the events attracted 4,482 attendees. 

Federal Broach, a division of Nidec Machine Tool Corporation of Japan, will exhibit their Vertical Rising Table Broach Machine (VRT) for the first time at the Motion + Power Expo, October 17-19, 2023. The machine is capable of fully automatic broaching of internal spur splines. In addition, the companion Federal Broach tools will be available for show attendees to review.

The Motion + Power Technology Expo is a three-day show that’s designed for the gear and power transmission industry, representing the entire community of professionals involved in the life of a gear, gearbox or other power transmission device—from design to manufacturing, testing, heat treating and more. You can find the suppliers of the equipment to make gears as well as gear and gear drive manufacturers themselves, along with related suppliers of things like software, tooling, lubrication, bearings and more.

As the exclusive North American representative of Louis Bélet SA (Switzerland) Swiss cutting tools in North America, Star SU will display its line of high-precision drills, end mills, thread, and gear-cutting tools including hobs and skiving tools in booth #3209 at the Motion + Power Technology Expo.  This includes solutions for micro-machining applications within the medical, automotive, aerospace, watchmaking, and general machining sectors.

Nidec Machine Tool America (NMTA), a division of Nidec Machine Tool Corporation of Japan, will exhibit the newly developed CF26A gear chamfering machine at the Motion + Power Expo, October 17–19, 2023. The machine is capable of fully automatic full tooth-defined chamfering of gears up to 260mm in diameter. In addition, the companion ChamferX tools will be available for show attendees to review.
