Seco Tools Production Unit (PU) in Mexico opened on September 29th. The new plant houses special tool manufacturing. This strategic move will allow Seco Tools to consolidate its presence in the Mexican market which extends and strengthens the configuration of its manufacturing chains worldwide.

Hyperion Materials & Technologies manufactures hard and super-hard materials for a wide variety of industries and applications, including cemented carbide blanks for gear cutting and hobbing. Widia has added an AL Geometry to its ISO turning portfolio, strengthening its broad offering of affordable tooling solutions for small to medium sized machine shops, machining aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The AL Geometry insert is offered in two grades for increased machining versatility: an uncoated microfine carbide WU10HT grade and the PVD AlTiN coated grade, WU05PT. Each grade is available in all popular styles, including C, D, R, T, and V inserts to increase customer tooling options.

Star Cutter Company has announced that it will be continuing its support of Alpena Community College’s manufacturing programs through increased monetary and equipment donations to the college. The donations will be supplied over a two-year period of time, helping to bring state-of-the art manufacturing equipment, such as grinding machines and optical comparators, to the center for hands-on training opportunities.

Sandvik Coromant has appointed two new members to its management group. Michael Eneberg began his new role as vice president and head of global sales on May 1, 2022, while Nicolas Dellachiesa will join as head of merger and acquisitions (M&A) in June. Reporting to Sandvik Coromant President, Helen Blomqvist, both Eneberg and Dellachiesa will play vital roles in driving the company’s global growth forward.

Seco and its technical partners will host the company’s second Medical Inspiration Through Innovation (ITI) virtual event on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in German and on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in English and Mandarin.
