Shane Herendeen has been promoted to fabrication division vice president of sales at MC Machinery Systems in Elk Grove Village, IL. Herendeen began his 20-year career in the manufacturing industry as a sales engineer with a Midwest Mitsubishi Laser distributor, followed by running his own manufacturing consulting company for several years. He joined MC Machinery Systems in 2010 as national sales manager for fabrication and was promoted to North American sales manager in 2015.

Michael Stucky, business unit director, Norwood Medical, Bellbrook, Ohio, has been elected the 32nd president of the Metal Powder Industries Federation, succeeding Rodney Brennen, Metco Industries, St. Marys, Pennsylvania. His two-year term began at the conclusion of the Federation’s annual MPIF Business Meeting, October 28–30, in Louisville, Kentucky.
STLE grants three academic awards through its Presidential Awards Program: The E. Richard Booser Scholarship (for undergraduate students), The Elmer E. Klaus Fellowship (for graduate students) and The Jeanie S. McCoy Scholarship (for female students). These awards are administered by the STLE Presidential Council and are meant to encourage students to pursue an advanced degree or a career in tribology or lubrication engineering by subsidizing a research project related to the field.
Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire esco GmbH engineering solutions consulting, a German-based supplier of software for power skiving, an important technology within gear machining. Esco’s software solutions supports design, production and quality inspection in the main area of gear manufacturing. The company will be reported in Sandvik Coromant, a division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.
The American Gear Manufacturers Association’s (AGMA) Motion + Power Technology Expo (MPT Expo) hosted 2,268 attendees and 163 exhibitors last week at the Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit, Michigan. AGMA also hosted its annual Fall Technical Meeting (FTM) and was co-located with ASM International’s Heat Treat and IMAT conference. Together, the events attracted 4,482 attendees.
