Some of his responsibilities in this role include reviewing and generating new requests for quotes and working with clients to determine their orders’ special requirements.

The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE)—the technical society serving individuals, companies and organizations that comprise the tribology and lubrication engineering business sector—today announced that Hong Liang, Ph.D., Oscar S. Wyatt Jr. Professor in the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, will assume the role of 2023-2024 president for a one-year term beginning May 23, 2023.   

Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) recently honored Garry Jankowski, Application Specialist, Sandvik Coromant, for his efforts as one of its most active career event volunteers. Jankowski has dedicated countless hours to introducing students and young people to careers in manufacturing as part of his more than 20 years of volunteering with DRMA.

Todd Hughes is now the Regional Sales Manager for Nidec Machine Tool America (NMTA). He is responsible for gear machine tool sales in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Arizona, and British Columbia. In a first for NMTA, Mr. Hughes will also promote and help customers with the full complement of gear-cutting tools, such as hobs, shaper cutters, skiving tools, shave tools, and tool services such as sharpening and coating.  

Nidec Machine Tool America has begun preparations for the installation of the LAMDA500 DED 3D printing system. The LAMDA500, a 5-axis CNC laser DED system, has a build envelope of 500mm X 500mm X 500mm.
