Regular readers of Gear Talk, our bi-weekly gear blog courtesy of Charles Schultz, know that he is extremely passionate about building an educational library and keeping detailed records in order to best transfer a companyâ??s gear knowledge from one generation to the next. While we adhere to this in the pages of Gear Technology, itâ??s worth noting that technical journals, magazines and 1,800 page bevel gear textbooks are not the only way to learn a little something about this great industry of ours.
IMTS 2018 was the biggest ever, no matter how you want to measure it. With 129,415 registrations, the show far surpassed the previous record of 121,764 set twenty years ago, in 1998. There were also more exhibiting companies (2,563) taking up more floor space (1,424,232 sq. ft.) than ever before.
We've decided to install a man-cave at our office here at Randall Publications. Comfy chairs, surround sound, flat screen, the works. We're going all out, because we have some important watching to do. But before you get the wrong idea, we're not goofing off and binge-watching Stranger Things. No, we're watching Gear Technology TV.
