ABB recently began the phased opening of a new $100 million campus in New Berlin, Wisconsin to increase U.S. production capacity of industrial electric drives and service to fully meet Build America Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements. ABB employees, elected officials, education leaders, and media gathered for a ribbon cutting event to mark the first phase opening of the campus.
ABB Robotics is continuing the expansion of its modular large robot portfolio with the introduction of the new IRB 7710 and IRB 7720. The new robots, combined with recently launched IRB 5710-IRB 5720 and IRB 6710-IRB 6740, offer a combined total of 46 different variants capable of handling payloads between 70 kg-620 kg, to give customers a new level of flexibility, greater choice and performance in their operations.
ABB has opened its refitted US robotics headquarters and manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, MI, which will support ABB Robotics’ global leadership in developing and manufacturing robotic solutions in the US, for the US and the Americas.
ABB Robotics is expanding its large robot range with four new models and 22 variants, offering more choice, increased coverage and greater performance. The next generation models include the IRB 6710, IRB 6720, IRB 6730 and IRB 6740, suitable for payloads ranging from 150kg to 310kg, with a reach from 2.5m to 3.2m, offering customers greater choice and significant performance and energy efficiency improvements.
