Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. announces the upgrade option of Vibration Cutting Control (VCC) via hardware to its M8 Series CNC as a solution to eliminate chip strands while machining difficult to cut material, such as stainless steel, at faster cutting speeds.
Marposs, a leader in measurement, test and inspection technologies, has expanded its VTS (visual tool setter) family with the new VTS SF-45 Compact, suited for non-contact, optical measurement of small, complex-shaped tools in constrained working spaces such as micro-machining, semi-conductor or moldmaking applications.
Additive manufacturing, or 3D printing, allows Seco Tools to create products that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to manufacture. The advantages include shorter lead times, improved tool life and increased sustainability.
In any centering application, the accuracy of the parts produced is no better than the accuracy of the centers holding the workpiece. In response to this dilemma Riten Industries, Inc. continues to expand its nationally recognized repair and trade-in exchange service programs. Exclusive to the North American market for a complete restoration, these programs deliver fast and economical solutions to extend end-users' investment far beyond the normal life of average centers to achieve maximum uptime.
In an urgent assignment, a gear has to be designed, with the engineer already knowing the required reduction ratio, torque and speed. On the manufacturing side, the preferred materials, possible qualities and the reference profiles are specified. This initial situation represents an everyday task.
Recognizing the role robotics plays in adding efficiency and lowering production costs for manufacturers of all types and sizes, Suhner continues to expand its robotics offering. The fully electric EFC-02 delivers precise, constant force throughout robotic grinding, sanding and deburring processes—resulting in superior, consistent surface quality.
Energy production, energy efficiency, energy crisis—the topic of energy concerns us today more than ever. The growth of clean energy technologies is relentless, companies want to manage their energy budgets efficiently and the carbon footprint of products will probably become a sales criterion soon.
At Interpack in Dusseldorf, the drive specialist Nord Drivesystems will present its wide product portfolio and great expertise in the packaging industry from May 4-10, 2023 – from decentralized frequency inverters to energy-efficient drives to high-performance surface treatments for washdown or spray areas.
Jergens will demonstrate its 5CV 130mm self-centering vise at this year’s FITMA show in Mexico City, Mexico, June 20th-22nd. The vise features clamping forces up to 3,600 lbs. and offers important advantages for five-axis machining applications. Among those are the reduction of ‘jaw lift’ that can occur due to flex that allows the workpiece to raise up during the clamping process. To combat this errant force, the vise jaws have been engineered with a pull-down design to ensure clamping and minimize lift.
The new KISSsoft release 2023 comes with numerous novelties. Among others, Gear Mesh Frequencies (GMF) can now be calculated for cylindrical and bevel gears. GMF results are visualized in two different diagrams, i.e. GMF versus rotational frequency of the reference gear, and GMF versus amplitude.
