Forest City Gear’s President Kika Young, Director of Operations Jared Lyford, and Value Stream Manager John Cochran attended the 2023 American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) Strategic Networking & Leadership (SNL) Forum in Fort Worth, TX. The annual event is held to offer mid-level managers and executives within the gear manufacturing industry opportunities to network and educate one another.  

Forest City Gear has expanded its capacity for the grinding of high-precision internal and external gears with the addition of two Kellenberger K100 cylindrical grinders.

Three members of Forest City Gear’s board of directors—President Kika Young, Mindy Young, and Appy Mikel—attended the 2023 AGMA/ABMA annual meeting in March. The meeting, hosted by the American Gear Manufacturers Association and the American Bearing Manufacturing Association, was held at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

Difficult general conditions, rapidly rising food and fuel prices, as well as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and related regional lockdowns weighed on economic development and slowed economic growth in the past business year. Nevertheless, Liebherr’s total revenue increased significantly compared to the previous year. The group achieved increased revenue in 10 of its 13 product segments, some of them significant. It thus surpassed its previous record from 2021 by €950 million.

The American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA) has changed its board of directors. These changes took place at the 2023 AGMA Annual Meeting in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

TIMTOS 2023 concluded successfully today, attracting over 45,000 on-site visitors from home and abroad, including nearly 6,000 international visitors from more than 100 countries. Among them, delegations were from Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Spain, and Algeria. The top five countries with the highest turnout were Japan, Malaysia, India, South Korea, and Thailand. The online exhibition will continue to run until April 6 and has already reached 7,000 visitors from nearly 15 countries. 

Two Forest City Gear employees, CNC Supervisor Mike Miller and CNC Lead/Programmer Josh Gates, recently attended a four-day training retreat in Pfronten, Germany hosted by DMG MORI. The event featured various seminars and opportunities for guests to experience firsthand DMG’s newest equipment and technologies, as well as networking and a taste of German culture.

TN Vaerktoejsslibning, Denmark’s second-largest precision tooling company, is deploying Numroto, the programming system for tool grinding from NUM across its entire production floor. The company cites highly successful long-term experience of the software, together with excellent technical support from NUM, as the key reasons for choosing to standardize on Numroto.
