New machining method opens up for turning several complex features with one tool

Sandvik Coromant, a cutting tool and tooling system specialist, has introduced a new method for turning complicated shapes and pockets with a single tool. Y-axis turning offers benefits such as reduced cycle time, improved component surface quality and more stable machining.

Gear Technology’s annual State-of-the-Gear-Industry survey polls gear manufacturers about the latest trends and opinions relating to the overall health
of the gear industry. As in years past, the survey was conducted anonymously, with invitations sent
by e-mail to gear industry companies—primarily in North America, but also including some respondents

Gear Up For Precision will take place April 12–13, 2023. Both Wenzel and Nidec Machine Tool America, located across from each other in Wixom, Mich., will be open to visitors with displays, technical discussions, presentations, and demonstrations.
As of February 1st, 2023, the Irish company PMT Premier Machine Tools Ltd (PMT), a supplier of machining solutions for the medical industry, will become part of the products and services offered by Seco. Seco will increase its presence in the medical segment with this acquisition by offering integrated manufacturing solutions.
