The new M62 OBD (over ball diameter) retoolable manual bench measuring system for checkng gear shafts from Marposs is designed to permit quick changeover to measure different gears in a shop-floor environment. According to the company’s press release, the bench allows free floating for the part on any mechanical reference surface. Parts also can be checked in different longtidudinal sections by means of a mechanical adjustment. Marposs has also developed the M1 Star EBG electronic bore gage, which offers 5 $B&L(Bm repeatability across a measuring range from 3-300 mm diameter, a frictionless and wear-free integrated transducer and IP 67 against water and coolant for longer life, interchangeable nosepieces for re-toolability and an interchangeable cable.
