Incorporating the brands of Holroyd, Binns & Berry, Crawford Swift, PTG Heavy Industries and Precision Components, PTG has established itself at the forefront of high precision machine tool design, build and supply, according to the company's press release. The PTG range includes grinding machines for rotor, thread and gear operations, rotor milling machines and lathes producing ultra precision components to serve a wide range of industries from aerospace, medical and mould tool & die to marine, power generation, oil, gas, steel and high-end automotive.
PTG acquired Chongqing Machinery and Electric Co. Ltd. in 2010, a Chinese industrial group that manufactures machinery and equipment for a wide range of industrial sectors including power generation, commercial automotive, HV transformers and electricity distribution, machine tools and general machinery systems. The objective of the partnership is to establish a strong foothold in international markets with the combined group continuing to invest and develop the technology, intellectual property and 'know-how' of the U.K. businesses and to create products that meet the market's demanding requirements, enabling them to compete with the major machine tool and component manufacturers worldwide.
In addition, PTG has recently expanded its focus on the key German markets for its precision components, machine tool products and consultancy services by setting up a new division, PTG Deutschland, with its headquarters in Augsburg, just outside Munich. Building on the reputation PTG had already established in the German market through Holroyd's provision of some of the world's largest helical rotors for a German customer, the newly formed PTG Deutschland provides local customers in key markets like power generation, HVAC, turbo-machinery, screw pumps and air compressors-with a localized hi-tech facility, primarily for the supply of precision rotors and other helical components.
