The program committee for the 2012 International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials (PowderMet2012) has issued a “Call for Papers & Posters” covering the latest developments in powder metallurgy (PM) materials, processes, and applications. Sponsored by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) in cooperation with APMI International, the conference will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, June 10–13, 2012, at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.
Technical program co-chairmen Ian Donaldson, director, R&D N.A. & Materials Engineering, GKN Sinter Metals, and Nicholas T. Mares, vice president of marketing and tech service, Asbury Graphite Mills, Inc., request abstracts of 100–150 words, covering any aspect of PM and particulate materials technology. In addition, several key topics have been identified for in-depth discussion within the special interest programs, such as spark plasma sintering (SPS) and associated processing technologies; delubrication science, problems, and development; magnesium powders & composites: technologies & applications; status of sintering theory as applied to metals; and dual-phase alloys—high strength and ductility. The program committee requests that abstracts be submitted by October 5, 2011.
