Dillon Manufacturing’s capabilities to manufacture special top jaws that securely grip any workpiece are detailed in a new full-color 4-page Special Jaws brochure. Virtually any jaw dimension can be modified, including extra wide jaws for maximum part contact and penetration, jaws with several diameters to hold multiple surfaces, extended length jaws to grip small to medium diameters, jaws to mirror the ID of the workpiece, and more. Jaws can be configured to grip the workpiece ID, OD, or a combination of both. Available soft or hard jaws, or full grip jaws in many materials including 1018, 1045, 4140, 8620, A-2, 6061 aluminum, stainless steel, and others. Jaws can be made with serrations for better grip and more aggressive machining, or without serrations to avoid marring the workpiece. Angle cuts and other techniques are available to reduce weight and allow better tool clearance. Many photos are included to show examples. Dillon standard and custom chuck jaws and collet pads and jaws are ideal for high-speed machining, as well as precision boring, tapping, drilling, and finishing across virtually all industrial markets.
