The 11th International VDI Conference on Gears 2025 will be held in Garching, Munich at the Gear Research Centre (FZG) of the Technical University of Munich from September 10th to 12th, 2025. Supported by national and international associations, the conference brings together over 500 leading experts from the international gear and transmission industry. Presenting a paper gives you the opportunity to take part in this leading international forum and to learn about the latest developments and research results in the powertrain industry and academia.
Discover innovative gear technology, network around the world and build partnerships!
Following the success of the past conference, the “International Conference on Gears” will surely again be a unique meeting point for propulsion system manufacturers and researchers of gear and transmission systems. It will therefore be an exceptional opportunity to present your new solutions, latest research results and technical ideas. You will find answers to questions such as “Where are the potentials for innovative tooth geometry and optimized modifications?”, “How can you increase the load carrying capacity?” or “What are the best techniques for condition monitoring and system diagnosis?”, and many more.
VDI/FZG would like to invite and encourage you to contribute an abstract and show improvements in the field of gears and transmissions, e.g., how gears can contribute to increasing energy efficiency, reducing resource consumption and how new technologies are incorporated in the powertrain.
Don´t miss out on being part of this unique meeting point for equipment manufacturers, experts and researchers of gear and transmission systems and present your new solutions, latest research results and technical ideas.
For a full list of conference topics, please download the Call for Papers. It´ll be available shortly or sent an email toMrs. Koerber.
Be part of the most important international conference in the field of gears and transmission in 2025 to meet, share ideas and learn together.
Submit your abstract now. The deadline for abstract submission is November 22nd, 2024
Authors should observe the following requirements:
To submit your abstract, you will need to create an or log in to your account at cfp.vdi-wissensforum.de. This allows you to submit and manage abstracts, papers, and posters associated with the International Conference on Gears 2025.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Mrs. Koerber.
The conference will be an onsite meeting, and we are looking forward to enjoying this networking opportunity together with you.
Important dates for authors
We would like to remind all authors of the important dates below.
Based on the abstract, the program committee will decide on acceptance and on the order of presentations in the conference program.
Publication of accepted abstracts (oral presentation and poster presentation):
If your contribution (presentation or poster) is accepted, you will need to prepare a manuscript for the conference proceedings. The manuscript should summarize the key points of your submission and will be included in our conference publication. The proceedings will be published as an eBook (VDI-Bericht) with an ISBN.
Authors opting for peer review:If your full paper meets all the requirements for publication in a scientific journal, you can voluntarily submit it to the Springer-Nature Journal “Engineering Research” (Q2, http://www.springer.com/journal/10010). The paper is then reviewed by international experts and, if successful, invited for publication within the collection “Best of Gears 2025”. The publication must be open-access. In the event of rejection by the reviewers, the paper will be included conference proceedings eBook (VDI-Bericht). Participation in the peer review process is voluntary. If the authors wish to submit their full paper to the journal “Engineering Research”, this must be indicated in the abstract.
