Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erhard Leidich has since 1993 served as full professor and chair of IKAT (Institute of Design and Drive Technology) at the Technical University of Chemnitz. His main field of research is shaft-hub connections; his additional fields of research include friction, fretting fatigue, bearings and strength of machine elements in general. For more than 15 years Leidich has led the investigation of the strength of tooth roots of worm gears.
