Mahr Federal Acquires Majority Interest in OKM of Jena, Germany

The Mahr Group has announced the acquisition of the majority interest of Optische Koordinatenmesstechnik GmbH (OKM) of Jena, Germany. According to the company’s press release, the new entity will be named Mahr OKM GmbH. Mahr’s stake in the new company should further expand its horizontal length metrology profile and complement the existing line of optical measurement tools. The new entity also stands to benefit from Mahr’s worldwide sales and service network. "OKM has been a leading provider of universal length measuring machines for many years," says Dewey Christy, product manager for the precision length metrology unit of Mahr. Mahr OKM will continue to be run by its existing management team, with the addition of Karl-Joachim Bode as the new managing director.
