Sandvik and Hofler Team Up in Schaumburg Productivity Center
The collaboration between Sandvik Coromant and Höfler Maschinenbau began in 2009. Since then it has developed into several joint activities including successful turn-key solutions delivered to the global market. The competence of these two leading brands helps improve customers' productivity, quality as well as lowering component cost. The high-productive gear hobber from Höfler (HF 600) purchased in 2010 for product development, demonstration and training purposes has been a key factor for Sandvik Coromant going into the gear manufacturing application segment.
In order to further improve presence and support in the North American market, Höfler Maschinenbau and Sandvik Coromant have decided to team-up in the Sandvik Coromant Productivity Center in Schaumburg, Illinois, just outside Chicago. A powerful Höfler HF 1000 gear hobbing machine equipped with the latest indexable insert tooling solutions is now available for training, demonstrations and joint activities with North American Customers.
"The location is the best possible as well as the facilities" says Ralf-Georg Eitel CEO for Höfler North America.
With this investment Höfler and Sandvik Coromant are demonstrating their strong common alliance for the North American market. Kenneth Sundberg, business development manager for gear milling at Sandvik Coromant is convinced that this new opportunity will enable Sandvik Coromant and Höfler Maschinenbau to implement the most effective solutions making the North American gear manufacturers even more competitive in a challenging global market.
