Toyota Expands West Virginia Plant

Toyota has announced a $120 millon expansion plan for their West Virginia facility. Beginning in 2007, Toyota Manufacturing will produce 240,000 additional automatic transmissions per year, bringing the plant’s total automatic transmission capacity to 600,000 units. The fifth expansion brings Toyota’s total investment to $920 million. Toyota Motor Manufacturing assembles four-cylinder engines for the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Matrix.
